Simeone eases the pressure on new Atletico star Joao Felix
The coach spoke about the player ahead of the start of the season
Diego Simeone spoke about Atletico Madrid's star summer signing Joao Felix, saying he is not going to pile pressure onto the 19-year-old Portuguese starlet.
"I'm not worried about loading up his backpack," said Simeone. "I'll treat him like an important player that we have and try to get the best out of him for the team."
Atletico Madrid start the season on Sunday against Getafe at the Wanda Metropolitano.
"They're an opponent who have had a fantastic season, with a coach (Jose Bordalas) who demands a lot and fires up his team as you see on the pitch," said the Rojiblancos coach.
"We don't have the vision (of being Liga favourites). We've got a lot of new players who need to adapt to what Atletico Madrid is, and they are doing that very well. Our hope is to keep improving day to day."
