The Rojiblanco were held to a goalless draw by Villarreal

Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone put his side's latest setback down to anxiety as the Rojiblanco were held to a goalless draw by Villarreal on Friday.

Atletico are now without a goal in three games in all competitions following 1-0 losses to Juventus and Barcelona in the Champions League and La Liga respectively.

"It's normal that anxiety creeps in when you create so many chances and don't take them," Simeone said after the stalemate at Villarreal.

The Argentine goal continued: "But we have to be patient. We had a lot of clear chances today, especially the ones which fell to Joao (Felix) and Lodi.

"We tried to balance things out in the first half by working harder in the middle and in the second half we had players to finish in the final third, but we couldn't.

"What worries me is winning a game now and from there we will see what happens."
