Sheffield United are interested in Neto who Barça value at €22m
The Brazilian keeper is up for sale but ter Stegen's injury might halt any immediate departure
Marc-Andre ter Stegen's injury might hand Neto a chance to establish himself at Barça. The Brazilian stopper, who will have to battle Iñaki Peña for the no1 shirt, is widely expected to leave the club this summer. With ter Stegen out until at least November, it remains to be seen whether Barça feel it would be wise to sell Neto before January.
Sheffield United have reportedly made their interest known in Neto as they look for someone to replace Dean Henderson, who will return to his parent club Manchester United this summer. They've already spent €20m on Aaron Ramsdale.
Barça are open to letting Neto leave but would demand a similar fee to the one the Blades had to pay for Ramsdale.
Return on their investment
Neto only arrived at the Camp Nou last summer in a deal which saw Jasper Cillessen go the other way and join Valencia. Barça paid €26m for the Brazilian and would want to recoup the majority of that outlay this summer.
Sheffield United were the surprise package of the season in the Premier League and finished just behind Arsenal in 9th place. They clearly feel improving their goalkeeping options will allow them to push on next season.
