The squad will play their first and only pre-tournament friendly against Japan this Saturday

After Monday's flight was delayed by one day due to last-minute technical problems with the plane, the Spanish Olympic squad arrived in Japan at 02:38 CET this morning following a 16-hour flight. They are due to have their first training session on Wednesday.

This will be Luis de la Fuente's first session with the whole 22-man squad, as the six players who participated in the European Championship with the Spanish senior squad - Unai Simón, Eric García, Pau Torres, Dani Olmo, Pedri and Mikel Oyarzabal - did not attend the squad's 13-day training camp in Benidorm. Instead, they were allowed some time off following Spain's semi-final exit against Italy on 6 July.

The Spanish Olympic squad is set to play its first and only pre-tournament friendly against Japan on Saturday. This match will be played at 12:00 CET in Kobe. Following the fixture, the squad will head to Sapporo, where they will play the opening match of the competition against Egypt on 22 July.
