Luis Enrique's side kicked off the UEFA Nations League with a 2-1 win

Spain began the UEFA Nations League with a 2-1 win over England at Wembley, Saul Niguez and Rodrigo Moreno with the goals after March Rashford had opened the scoring.

Here at the La Roja player ratings from London:

DE GEA (7)

Conceded in the 11th minute but made two great saves from Rashford to stop England salvaging a draw. Was also involved in stoppage time when Danny Welbeck's goal was ruled out for a foul on the Manchester United goalkeeper.

CARVAJAL (7)

Was key in Spain's equaliser, driving forward and playing in Rodrigo, who set up the goal. Was also involved in a clash with Luke Shaw, which saw the England left-back forced off and led to nine minuted of added-on time. Booked for a late challenge later in the game.

NACHO (5)

Was poorly positioned for Rashford's opener, beaten for pace. In the second half he did make a couple of decent interceptions but Luis Enrique may have doubts over who should partner Sergio Ramos long-term.

SERGIO RAMOS (6)

The captain was active throughout the game. Touched the ball a lot and did well, bringing it out from the back and linking well with Marcos Alonso.

MARCOS ALONSO (6)

Making his debut for Spain, the Chelsea full-back didn't look nervous and played like a veteran. Played things simple and kept the game easy. Was taken off late on.

SAÚL ÑÍGUEZ (8)

Scored the first goal of the Luis Enrique era, his first for Spain. Also generated play throughout the game and moved between the lines, while also helping in defence.

BUSQUETS (7)

The only Barcelona player in Spain's first-ever UEFA Nations League line-up. Performed his task to perfection, as has become expected. Good on the ball, good reading the play... not the most glamorous job but effective and necessary.

THIAGO (6)

The Bayern Munich man showed his quality from dead balls, setting up Rodrigo's goal. Was good at starting moves all night before being taken off in the 80th minute.

RODRIGO (8)

Set up the equaliser and scored what proved to be the winner. Intelligent movement all night caused constant problems for John Stones, who was booked trying to deal with him.

IAGO ASPAS (6)

Started as a No.9, battling with the England defenders. Didn't have an easy task, but fought well before being moved wider, where he was less involved before being replaced by Marco Asensio.

ISCO (6)

Played on the left but couldn't link with his team-mates like he has done previously. Wasn't as involved as normal, although had his moments. Had to drop deeper in the second half to get involved.

Substitutes

Asensio (5)

Came on for Aspas in the 68th minute but didn't have a huge affect on the game.

Sergi Roberto (6)

Making his first Spain appearance in two years, he brought some control to midfield.

Íñigo Martínez (NR)

Brought on in the 87th minute for Alonso.
