In an exclusive interview with SPORT, the Spain international speaks about a difficult moment in his career

Here is an extract from Sergi Roberto's interview with SPORT in which the Barcelona midfielder speaks about being whistled by his own supporters against Bayern Munich.

Are you happy?

Yes, yes. When things don't go well it's harder to be happy. But you have to stick together and be strong. The common goal is for things to go well and to win. It's a shame because preseason went well, the atmosphere on the team was spectacular and we were really happy. But results haven't followed. Now there's more noise than normal around the team. We know the team we have, we have to have faith and be more united than ever. The group is spectacular and we deserve for things to go better.

After the whistles at Camp Nou, do you feel strong?

I won't lie to you, that day really got to me. Both the match and the following days. That had never happened and it's not nice. I have spent my whole career at this club and no one likes these things. If it didn't affect me, it would be a problem. It would mean I don't care and I do care. Things will get better. There's a lot of noise that doesn't help, but we have to stick together and show that the club is strong than ever with the supporters. I'm sure we will kick on. That will happen when the results come, as bad results make it all more difficult. I am convinced that personally and for the team things will get better.

Chatting with you now, you seem OK.

I started the season with two goals and an assist. That's why the whistling surprised me. You have to respect everyone's opinion and use it as motivation, motivation to work harder, compete better and take things on. That's how I am. If I am known for anything it's that I don't stop fighting and always give my all. I have done since the first day and I will keep doing so.

Luis Enrique defended you, saying you're paying for the broken plates at Barca. Do you agree?

That's the sport we like so much. One day you're up, the next, down. You have to know how to manage it. When you're up and when you're going through your worst moments. You have to stay in the middle. If you win, you're the best. And if you lose, the worst. I am always focused on myself. When we lose, we can't get so down and we have to work harder. Now we have three big games coming up and we have to give everything to move forward.
