Pau Torres: Ramos is a reference point for centre-backs
The Villarreal defender hailed the Real Madrid skipper ahead of Spain's games
Villarreal defender Pau Torres spoke after being called up into the Spain squad for Nations League matches against Germany in Stuttgart and Ukraine in Madrid.
"For all centre-backs, Sergio Ramos is a reference point and we learn from him day to day," said Torres. "In my case I have had the luck to come into the last three Spain squads and I have to accept the role the coach thinks is right for me, to help the best I can," he told a news conference.
Pau Torres says that not too much is different with Spain despite the coronavirus threat.
"We have stopped coming to the dressing room to do what we did before," he explained. "Now we shower in the room, take PCR tests with our clubs, we worked individually and went a long time without seeing team-mates. Now we have more experience and are on a good path."
