The Italian side know the defender is available on the transfer market

Roma are the latest club to show an interest in signing Barcelona defender Junior Firpo, who the Catalan club have said can leave for the right price.

The Serie A side are thinking of Junior as they look to strengthen their backline for next season and, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, are keen on the Barça left-back, who would cost around 25 million euros, and Tottenham's Jan Vertonghen.

According to the report, signing Junior and Vertonghen would allow the Italians to sign Spinazzola. Kolarov and Junior would compete for the left-back position.

Junior joined Barça from Real Betis last summer but has not managed to challenge Jordi Alba for his place and Barcelona have been thinking about including him as a makeweight in potential deals this summer.

"I have played more than I expected but the sensations are grey," Junior said recently of his below-par performances at Camp Nou.
