Garcia Pimienta is planning on using more in-house youngsters

Barcelona are planning a revolution with the B team, regardless of how the season ends. Barça B could still stay in the second division of Spanish football following back-to-back wins against Sporting Gijo and Cadiz.

However, whether they're in the second tier or the third tier, there will be a radical change of philosophy at the club.

The plan is to be on in-house talent. The current method of mixing young, home grown players with experience will be stopped. Instead, the players that have come through La Masia will be given leading roles.

THE KEY: García Pimienta

In this sense, the appointment of Francisco Javier García Pimienta as the new coach has been key. He has 17 years experience as a coach and knows the club's academy inside out.

Some players who were weighing up the chance to move abroad are now reconsidering their futures after he replaced Gerard Lopez last month, agreeing a deal until the end of the current campaign plus two more years.

Pimienta may even bring some players back who left the club, like Alex Carbonell, who moved to Reus.

THE CHOSEN ONES

The U19s that will have a place in the Barça B squad next season are: Iñaki Peña (goalkeeper), Mateu, Chumi, Mingueza, Miranda (defenders); Collado, Monchu, Riqui Puig, Jandro (midfielders); Marqués and Abel Ruiz (forwards).

Of all of them, Mateu, Miranda, Jandro and Abel Ruiz will have a role with the B team despite the fact they're still U19s -- the rest will move into the club's professional section.

To those players, you can add those already consolidated in the B team, like Carles Perez and Oriol Busquets, who will alternate with the first team. Carles Aleña, meanwhile, will join Erensto Valverde's squad on a full time basis.
