The coaching staff and player have worked on a personalised plan for the Belgian star to be ready for the Champions League

Real Madrid are hoping Eden Hazard can lead the team to victory over Manchester City and book their place in the Champions League quarter-finals. "I've had the worst season of my career," admitted Hazard following a tough year in Madrid. Yet there's still time for that to change if the Belgian international can help overturn the 2-1 defeat to City from the first leg.

Zidane and his staff are anxiously waiting for Hazard to return to the starting lineup for the crunch European tie. Hazard is no stranger to English football after spending years at Chelsea and he could hold the key to Madrid remaining in the competition. Hazard missed the first match due to injury.

A PERSONALISED PLAN

The player and coaching staff have designed a personalised preparation plan ahead of the City game according to 'OK Diario'. Hazard is following a strict workout and diet plan so he's at peak fitness for the contest. They hope this will bring an end to the discomfort he's been feeling in his ankle and give him the confidence to play his natural game.

Without captain Sergio Ramos on the field due to suspension, Zidane's team need to score at least twice to go through. This means the usual defence-first tactic will have to be swapped out for a more offensive plan of attack and Hazard is the ideal addition. Pairing him up with a red-hot Karim Benzema is Madrid's only hope of booking their place in Lisbon.
