Vinicius Junior statement attacks La Liga and Spain after racism

Vinicius had a somewhat complicated Sunday afternoon at Mestalla. Real Madrid lost to Valencia, who were playing to see if they would stay in the top flight, although that is probably the least important thing about what happened at Mestalla. 

The player asked De Burgos Bengoetxea to stop the game when he heard racist insults coming from the stands behind the goal that was being defended at the time. Vinicius pointed at one of the home fans and the police came to remove him from his seat.

Shortly afterwards, he was in the limelight when he assaulted Hugo Duro during a brawl, which earned him a straight red card after the referee reviewed the images with VAR. The player continued the controversy by posting a post on Instagram in which he wrote "the prize for the racists today is that I have been sent off. It's not football it's La Liga". 

"SPAIN IS A COUNTRY OF RACISTS"

Later, the footballer made a post on Instagram, 'attacking' Spain, and pointing to the country as "racist".

"It wasn't the first time, nor the second or the third. Racism is normal in La Liga. The competition thinks it's normal, so the Federation and opponents encourage it. I am very sorry. The championship that once belonged to Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cristiano and Messi, today belongs to the racists. A beautiful nation, which welcomed me and I love it, but which accepted to export the image to the world from a racist country. Sorry for the Spaniards who do not agree, but today in Brazil, Spain is known as a country of racists. And unfortunately with everything that happens on a weekly basis, I can't defend it. I agree. But I am strong and I will go all the way against the racists. Even if I am far away from here."
