The Serbian could leave Spain just one year after signing from Frankfurt

Luka Jovic has not lived up to his price tag at Real Madrid after joining the club from Frankfurt last summer and looks set to leave in the coming months.

The Serbian has been linked with a number of clubs across Europe but Monaco currently lead the race for his signature.

Monaco have an ace up their sleeve in the form of Kovac, who was recently appointed as the club's new manager. He was in charge of Frankfurt in the 17-18 season and worked with Jovic.

According to France Football, the Croatian coach has phoned Jovic to try and convince him he would play a key role for the Ligue 1 club.

Madrid want to pocket around 50 million euros for the striker, which is 10 million less than they paid for him last year.
