The ex-Real Madrid defender will join the French side on a free after his contract expires

Sergio Ramos is edging closer to a move to Paris Saint-Germain. The defender's brother and agent, Rene Ramos, was in Paris on Thursday to negotiate a move to the French club.

According to French and international media, talks have progressed well and just the final details need sorting, with the main issue the length of the contract.

Ramos wants a two-year deal but in the end the second year is likely to be dependent on a number of conditions being met in his first year at the club.

Since leaving Madrid, PSG has always been the most attractive option for Ramos, even if he will have to take a slight reduction on his previous salary to fit into their wage structure, with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe the club's big earners.

Manchester City and Manchester United have also been linked with the 35-year-old but PSG looks more likely now, while United could turn their attention to Madrid's Raphael Varane.
