The Madrid captain spoke after the controversial 3-2 win over Real Betis on Saturday

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos was a protagonist again as his team beat Real Betis 3-2 on Saturday night in controversial fashion.

He scored a dubious late penalty and earlier Emerson was sent off controversially as he tangled with Luka Jovic.

"For me these actions were far away and I wasn't able to see them well," said Ramos. "Referees always do their jobs the best they can. Sometimes they have favoured us and other times they have hurt us, but always without bad intentions."

Asked about the game he said: "After our first goal we went to sleep, stopped pressing them and they did well on the ball. We gave them half an hour of the first half. After the break we came out with another mentality and got in the game, creating chances."
