The Real Madrid skipper spoke ahead of the start of the Club World Cup

Sergio Ramos says Real Madrid are focused on the objective of winning the Club World Cup for a third successive year, even though they don't have Cristiano Ronaldo to help them this year.

"I think on the pitch there won't be much difference [to previous years], despite the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, who was a key player for us, but we're going to compete with the club's same philosophy as always: to win," the Madrid captain explained.

"We have good memories in this competition, because we've had success in the past. It's a short competition and there' no room for mistakes. There's a semifinal and then the final... and we want to take the cup home to Madrid."

Madrid kick off their defence of the title on Wednesday against Japanese side Kashima Antlers in the last four. The tournament is taking place in Abu Dhabi.
