Ramos' nose drew blood immediately and he was taken off at half-time

Sergio Ramos had to be taken off at half-time of Saturday's Madrid derby after breaking his nose at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The Real Madrid centre-back dipped to win a header in the 36th minute but was caught in the face by Lucas' boot at the same time.

Ramos' header went wide and he had to be attended to by Madrid's medical staff with blood immediately pouring from his nose.

Despite remaining on the pitch for the rest of the first half, Ramos eventually had to be taken off with a broken nose at the break, replaced by Nacho.

It's not clear if he will be available for the midweek Champions League game against APOEL, but Zinedine Zidane may prefer not to risk him.

When he does return, it's likely he will do so wearing a mask to protect his nose.
