Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos said he agreed with the red card that his team-mate Luka Modric saw at Balaidos as Madrid beat Celta Vigo 3-1.
Modric was dismissed for catching Denis Suarez on his Achilles tendon and Ramos said "it's good" that VAR is being used to "protect football".
"Everything used to protect football is good," said Ramos when asked about the red card.
"Today the decision was against us. We ended up with one less man, I don't think Modric went in with bad intention but he arrived late and the referee had doubts. He spoke to the other officials and reached that decision. VAR's there to help us and if these decisions protect football then they are welcome."
