Real Sociedad are looking to bring Martin Odegaard in on loan next season. The Real Madrid youngster was on the verge of signing for Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen.

The 20-year-old midfielder is looking to make the next step in his development as he remains without a place in the first team of his parent club. Odegaard was spotted in San Sebastian on Friday and walked around the facilities as he considers his options.

Bjorn Tore Kvarme, the player's agent, is the one who spoke with La Real's director of football Roberto Olabe. After receiving permission from Real Madrid, Odegaard travelled to Leverkusen on Thursday to visit the city and the club. However a late call from Real Sociedad changed those plans as Odegaard would prefer to stay in Spain.

It was Noticias 'Guipuzcoa' who discovered the Norwegian in the city. He visited the training centre before seeing the building work which is ongoing at Anoeta. He also spoke with Jokin Aperribay and Roberto Olabe.

The decision now belongs to Odegaard. Does he head to Germany where he could be playing Champions League football next season or remain in LaLiga, adjust to the country and climate, whilst getting crucial experience?
