The match was due to be played at Valdebebas on Wednesday

Real Madrid's friendly against Rayo Vallecano, scheduled for Wednesday, has had to be postponed due to a coronavirus scare.

Zinedine Zidane's side were due to kick off their preseason at Valdebebas on Wednesday but a possible positive test at Rayo has seen the game called off as a precaution.

According to Marca, a Rayo player is waiting to see if a second PCR test comes back positive or negative. For that reason, both teams have agreed to cancel the game to avoid a possible outbreak of the virus.

Therefore, Zidane's side will train instead as they continue their preparations for the new La Liga season. Remember they won't kick off until later this month due to their involvement in Europe in August.

Rayo are in action this weekend, against Mallorca, as La Liga and La Segunda begins for the majority of Spain's clubs.
