They have reached an agreement with CD Tacón to buy their spot in next season's Primera División

There will be another 'El Clásico' in next season's Liga Iberdrola. According to a report by 'El Mundo del Siglo XXI', Real Madrid will have a women's side for the first time after buying CD Tacon's place in the league for €500,000.

Madrid concluded negotiations with CD Tacon, who were promoted to the top division just this summer, and will be made official next week. They join FC Barcelona, Athletic Club, Atlético de Madrid, Real Sociedad and Levante in having a women's team.

With the women's game gaining more traction and importance in the world of football, Real Madrid didn't want to be left even further behind.

Barça Women were runners up in the Champions League last year. Spain have also reached the Round of 16 for the first time in the ongoing Women's World Cup 2019. They will take on the United States next.

CD Tacon was created in 2012 and focuses on bringing through players via their academy. Now that Madrid have bought their place in the league, it'll be interesting to see the level of investment Florentino Perez makes this summer.
