Real Madrid will be interested in Neymar Jr if he's available on loan

The most likely scenario which involves Neymar Jr returning to the Camp Nou this summer is if it's a loan deal, as revealed by SPORT. However this new set of talks has triggered the interest of an old rival, namely Real Madrid. Florentino Perez would be open to bringing the superstar to his club, despite Zinedine Zidane's reservations, as he looks for yet another marquee signing.

Madrid are helped by the fact they have a much better relationship with PSG than Barça. It was their owner, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who actually told Florentino of the possibility that Neymar could leave this summer with payment not needing to be made until 2020.

PSG are open to selling Neymar due to the bad feeling amongst the squad over this whole ordeal and many feel it'd be easier to focus on objectives without the distractions the Brazilian brings.

Madrid's hopes of a loan deal depend exclusively on Neymar's attitude. He's so far only shown an interest in a return to the Camp Nou but as we've seen in football, things can change quickly.

Barça won't find it easy to fund a deal for Neymar

Barcelona are open to bringing Neymar 'home' but it's only reached this stage due to the player's insistence on finding a new club. However, it might have come a year too early as Barça have already brought in Antoine Griezmann and didn't expect Neymar to be available until 2020.

Neymar only wants to join Barça which puts them in a difficult position as both Griezmann and Frenkie de Jong have eaten up the majority of their transfer budget this summer. The conflict between PSG and Neymar means both are searching for a solution this month.

With PSG unwilling to accept players in a potential swap deal, they might view sending Neymar to Madrid for 12 months as a suitable punishment for the player and Barça.

Neymar has agreed personal terms with Barça and doesn't want to go anywhere else. He's been fined by PSG for turning up late and hasn't featured in any of their preseason matches so far. 

This isn't the first time Florentino has made a play for Neymar either. He did so in 2011 and 2013 when he opted for Barça over Real Madrid. Florentino will be hoping it's third time lucky.

The longer the situation drags on, the more hope Barça have that PSG will be open to letting Neymar leave on loan. But you know, until the very last second, Florentino will be doing his best to steal a march on his rival.
