Los Blancos are planning a move for the Danish international this winter

Tottenham have known since last summer that Christian Eriksen wants to leave the club and he could finally depart in January. The Dane is out of contract in June and if Spurs don't want to lose him for free they will have to sell in the winter.

This is where Real Madrid appear. Los Blancos have always been interested in the player and will look to take advantage of the situation by offering an amount worth less than 30 million euros. They could wait until the summer to sign him for free, but with so many injuries and shortages in midfield, they've decided to kick on sooner than later.

The key to the operation is making Zidane understand that Eriksen is not a short-sighted signing but a much-needed player for the squad. Madrid have been reliant on Kroos and Modric in midfield recently, as well as Casemiro, and also have seen Valverde and Isco having fitness problems this season.

Eriksen is keen to move away from Spurs and is excited by Madrid's interest, which would allow him to fight for all the game's biggest trophies.
