Real Madrid postpone Solari sacking until Monday

Real Madrid have decided to keep Santiago Solari in charge until Monday. President Florentino Perez and the board met on Thursday. The chief wanted to sack Solari, who has a cold relationship with his players. Madrid, because of the difficulty of hiring a new coach now, have postponed his sacking until Monday.

Perez wants a top level coach to ensure Madrid finish in the top four and finish the season with dignity. The idea is to sign a coach who can get to work on the new sporting project while also delivering right away. That is the hard thing, with Zinedine Zidane only willing to return from the summer. Mourinho is more open to take the team now, but there are doubts about his return given his relationship with Ramos.

There was no full agreement at the meeting and Perez decided to wait until Monday. Solari will not continue, but Madrid have more time to negotiate with possible replacements. It's also not ruled out there will be a new interim coach until the end of the season.
