Florentino Pérez will put a halt to any major signings this summer as he prepares to launch a bid to sign the French superstar next year

Kylian Mbappe is the reason why Real Madrid won't be making any major investments this summer. The objective for Florentino Perez is to ensure there's enough cash available to fund a move for Kylian Mbappe should he fail to sign a new contract before 2021. The Los Blancos president is increasingly confident that he'll be able to sign Mbappe next summer before his contract expires in 2022.

The relationship between PSG and Real Madrid remains strong. There won't be any unsettling tactics or meetings behind the other's back. Everything will be done correctly and with complete transparency. PSG's president, Al Khelaifi, values Mbappe at 300 million euros this summer. Obviously, that's a fee which Madrid can't even dream about paying right now.

ZIDANE AND MBAPPE ARE IN CONTACT

Mbappe has never hidden his desire to play for Madrid one day and has a good, friendly relationship with his compatriot Zinedine Zidane. The in-demand striker knows about Madrid's interest and how the team would be built around him. In order for a move to happen in 2021, Mbappe can't sign a new deal at PSG and Madrid must have the cash available to buy him outright. At the moment, both sides are doing their part.

Florentino has put a hold on all potential incoming transfers this summer. The plan is to add a couple of new faces to the squad but that the majority of the squad will remain the same. James Rodriguez, Dani Ceballos, Sergio Reguilon, Borja Mayoral and Gareth Bale have all been put up for sale in order to raise funds and free up wages. Al Khelaifi won't give up on Mbappe without a fight and will hope there's a magic number which will cause the striker to pen an extension with PSG.
