Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale banned for one league game

The competition committee ratified the suspension on Wednesday

Wales and Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has been banned for one league game by the RFEF's Competition Committee after getting sent off in his side's draw with Villarreal last weekend.

The Madrid player, who scored both goals for Zinedine Zidane's side in the game, was sent off late on the Estadio de La Ceramica after picking up two yellow cards.

Bale was close to leaving Madrid in the summer but ended up staying, against coach Zidane's wishes, and has been a key player in the first three games of the season.

Meanwhile, in the second division, Aythami Artile and Sergio Tejera of Las Palmas have also been banned for one game.
