Real Madrid exploring option to sign Rabiot on a free in the summer
Sources close to PSG believe a deal may already have been struck
Despite being constantly linked with FC Barcelona, the Catalan club's interest in Adrien Rabiot has wilted since the confirmation of a deal to sign Ajax's Frenkie de Jong. But they haven't closed the door completely.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid have taken advantage of the situation and seem ready to make a move for the France midfielder, 23. As of today, though, his future remains uncertain.
Sources close to Paris Saint-Germain are convinced that an agreement is in place with Real Madrid. Rabiot can leave for free in the summer after deciding not to renew his contract. Things are even more complicated given he's involved in a dispute with PSG after being seen out partying the night the French side lost to Manchester United in the Champions League.
Rabiot was also a Madrid target when they looked to fill the space left by Kovacic's loan move to Chelsea, although nothing happened in the end. Zinedine Zidane could back a move for his compatriot this summer as Los Blancos look to remodel their squad following a disappointing season on the pitch.
