Florentino Perez will only allow Cristiano to join Juventus if he publically asks for a move away

Cristiano Ronaldo's potential transfer to Juventus is reaching an important moment. Real Madrid know about Cristiano's wish to leave but they won't accept Juventus' offer unless the player publicly explains why he wants to go. The remit from Florentino Perez is clear: If you want to leave, say as much and I'll accept the offer. Perez doesn't want there to be any backlash coming his way and is putting the emphasis on the player to explain his reasons for a move away. Madrid are still waiting to receive an official offer from Juventus but they'll accept it, just as soon as Cristiano shows his hand.

The tension between Perez and Cristiano has been rising in recent months. The player doesn't believe the club protected him during his court case with the Spanish tax office. Cristiano asked for a huge wage increase but Madrid said no and pointed to the fact he had recently signed a new deal and there was no need to make any changes to it.

Cristiano decided to leave Madrid at the beginning of the year and asked for his buyout clause to be reduced. The club agreed. His representatives say there's even a signed document which confirms the agreement and it states Cristiano could be sold for €120m. Juventus arrived on the scene a little over a month ago and the player has decided to join them. The last step for this deal to get over the line is for Cristiano to announce he wants to leave.
