The Frenchman did not attend his press conference because he is at home isolating

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The Madrid coach is under pressure at the moment after losing to Alcoyano embarrassingly in the Copa del Rey in midweek, but will not be in charge on the sidelines for the trip to Alaves because he must self-isolate.

“Real Madrid C. F. report that our coach Zinedine Zidane has tested positive for COVID-19,” said Los Blancos, in a matter-of-fact statement.

Zidane’s assistant David Bettoni spoke at his press conference on Friday ahead of the game. “The mister is feeling very well,” said Bettoni of Zidane’s condition.
