Los Blancos want the former Birmingham boy to bolster their midfield in the summer

Real Madrid are very close to finalising this summer's star signing to reinforce their squad. According to 'Bild', Real Madrid have started their final offensive for Jude Bellingham, with the player's OK and could close the deal for 100 million euros in a fixed transfer fee plus 50 million euros in variables. The English midfielder would receive a wage of around 20 million euros per season after discarding the numerous other offers on the table.

Bild' explains that Bellingham has preferred to play for a historic club in Europe over million-dollar projects such as PSG and Manchester City. Apart from these two clubs, the England international had also rejected Chelsea and Liverpool, who had already withdrawn from the bidding process due to the player's refusal to wear their shirt. Bellingham's decision was to be immediate and everything indicates that he will end up playing for Real Madrid.

Madrid see Bellingham as an absolutely strategic signing to renew their midfield while waiting to see how the renewals of Kroos and Modric will end. The German has not yet decided his future, while the Croatian looks set to continue for another season after having his salary reduced. The possible arrival of Bellingham would spell the end for Dani Ceballos, who will not renew his contract and could continue his career back at Real Betis.

Madrid would only make this galactic signing pending the arrival of a centre-forward who could be brought in at a reasonable price and who could act as a bridge until Endrick's arrival. Benzema is set to renew for another season, but the club understands that a second striker must arrive to give the Frenchman a rest. Mariano will leave this summer.
