Real Madrid are ready to make a move for Haaland this summer

Ever since Cristiano Ronaldo left, the team has failed to score goals; Jovic doesn't appear to be the answer either

Real Madrid are interested in Norwegian striker Erling Haaland in their efforts to finally replace Cristiano Ronaldo's goals in the team. During the time since the Portuguese goalscorer left no one from Benzema, Jovic, Bale or Vinicius have proven themselves worthy of stepping up and taking his place.

Los Blancos asked Borussia Dortmund about the striker's situation ahead of a possible move. 19-year-old Haaland has 12 goals in 8 appearances for Dortmund and is close to hitting 40 for the season after scoring 28 with his former side RB Salzburg.

GOOD RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE TWO SIDES

Haaland will be Real Madrid's main transfer target this summer, as confirmed by 'Radio MARCA'. At the moment, Madrid have asked to know whenever a side presents a bid to the German side with the idea being to match it. Achraf Hakimi, who is currently on loan at Dortmund, could be included in any potential transfer.

Since Cristiano left two seasons ago, Madrid have greatly missed his 40-50 goals per season. They spent €60m on Jovic but Zidane hasn't given the youngster much of a chance, instead preferring to stick with Benzema. Yet whilst the French forward is a great second striker, he isn't someone who is going to fire the team to glory. Bale has fallen even further down the pecking order and Vinicius needs time to develop. Rodrygo hit the ground running but, much like with Jovic, Zidane has opted to stick with experience over youth when it comes to his attack.
