The defender made a crucial late goal-line clearance to ensure his side beat Granada

Real Madrid took a huge step towards the LaLiga title with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Granada at the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes. However, Sergios Ramos was keen for everyone to keep their feet on the grounds until the trophy was mathematically secure.

"The title is as close as it was last week," insisted Ramos. "We can't relax. We haven't won anything yet. We still have points to play for and we'll try and win the two remaining matches."

Ramos was asked what happened to Madrid in the second half against Granada as they struggled to match the performance of the first period. "Unconsciously we made the mistake of lowering our guard because we were in a strong position. That's what we got wrong. Today, you can't beat anybody unless you maintain your concentration for the full 90 minutes. It's a shame to concede a goal after so long of keeping the opposition out. We leave with a sour taste in our mouths due to that poor second half."

Ramos made a crucial block off the line with just five minutes to go. "This title means a lot to us. It's the reward for consist form. The break came at a good time for us to reflect and we've been much more focused since then."
