The former Madrid and Spain coach wants the full three years of his contract, €28m, paid in full

This week just keeps getting worse for Real Madrid. Following two crushing defeats to FC Barcelona in the Copa del Rey and LaLiga, then being eliminated by Ajax in the Champions League, it's a former coach who is casting a shadow over the club. Julen Lopetegui, who was sacked earlier in the season, has demanded the full three years of his contract be paid: all 28 million euros of it.

According to the 'El Transistor' radio show, the move which divided a nation when Florentino Perez poached Spain's national coach on the eve of the World Cup, could be set to hit the president in his pocket.

Lopetegui is willing to take the matter to the courts in order to receive his full payment. In an interview Lopetegui held with 'El Partidazo' recently, he claimed not to hold anything against his former club but admitted Perez hadn't even spoken to him in person about losing his job.
