Bale has told Giggs that he won't be leaving Madrid despite not playing as much as expected in recent weeks

Zinedine Zidane has made it clear he doesn't want Gareth Bale at Real Madrid. The Welsh forward has spent more time playing games in the stands than he has minutes on the pitch since the restart. However, it appears that whilst Zidane is pushing for Bale to leave, the forward has no intention of going anywhere this summer.

According to the 'Mirror', Bale has told Wales' manager Ryan Giggs he will remain at Real Madrid next season. The forward knows this could impact his sharpness going into Euro 2021 but he doesn't want to lose out on any of the €14.5m he's paid every season at Madrid.

A truce appeared to have formed between Zidane and Bale at the end of the previous summer's transfer window but it's been a different story since the COVID-19 outbreak. He was spotted with his mask over his eyes during the 2-0 victory over Alaves and against Granada was seen using a paper as a spyglass.

It remains to be seen whether Zidane and Bale can patch things up or whether the Welshman will continue to sit in the stands and claim his huge salary.
