Marcelo pulls no punches: "Neymar is a better player than Hazard"
The Brazilian full back would welcome Neymar at the Santiago Bernabeu too
With Marcelo desperate to prove he's still got a role to play at Real Madrid next season, he probably hasn't helped his standing amongst some fans and players with his latest comments. In an interview for the 'De Sola' YouTube channel, he openly admitted he thinks Neymar is a better player than Real Madrid's new 'Galactico' signing Eden Hazard.
"Hazard is incredible, really good, and is now my teammate at Real Madrid. Everyone knows Neymar's qualities, he's in the Top 5 too. I've known Neymar since his time at Santos. He thinks about doing something on the pitch and at the last second does something else. He's incredible. Comparing them is difficult but for me, Neymar is better."
Talk then turned to whether he'd like to see Neymar play for Madrid alongside him. "Neymar is great and the best players in the world are here. It would be a huge pleasure to play alongside him at Madrid but I'm not the one who decides."
Marcelo doesn't believe Neymar's Barça past would count against him in the Madrid dressing room. "One time we were in preseason and, as he's a friend of mine and Casemiro, he came into in Real Madrid dressing room. He sat down and spoke with us but nothing about football. When the match is over, the rivalry is put to one side."
