The Belgian keeper has faced a lot of criticism for decisions he's made in his private life and the club has now told him to work on improving his form

When Real Madrid secured the transfer of Thibaut Courtois for €35m it was hailed as one of the best deals of the summer. To sign a player of his quality for such a low sum, on the back of a fine World Cup showing, saw many praise the work of Florentino Perez to get it done.

At 26 years old and with seven years of experience at the elite level of football, he's one of the best goalkeepers in the sport and still has room to improve. However his first few months at Madrid haven't gone as well as expected. Being a new face in a squad which has been together for such a long time was never going to be easy.

The poor run of results has been added to questions araising over his personal life. Because of this Real Madrid have spoken to Courtois and asked him to focus on rediscovering his best form rather than making the headlines for other reasons.

Another factor for Courtois to deal with is the return of Zinedine Zidane. The French coach has repeatedly spoken about how highly he rates Keylor Navas and this could see the Belgian return to the bench in favour of the Costa Rican.
