Real Madrid president Florentino Perez gave an interview to France Football in which he boasted about the club’s squad.

The Madrid chief does not think they need to sign top players and says they actually have the best side in the world.

“I insist that we have the best squad in the world and the trophies we’ve won prove that right. We will not spend for spending’s sake,” said Perez.

“For example, I’ve read and heard some media say for years that Madrid need to sign a No 9 when the reality clearly shows Karim Benzema is the best striker in the world.

“What we are doing in any case is bringing in young players who will be important in the future, like Vinicius or Rodrygo.”

Perez also praised PSG and their president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

"PSG is a great club already and they're friends of ours, part of elite football. There's no need to give them that much advice because they already have French football where it deserves to be. Nasser Al-Khelaifi has done excellent work. To get further and become bigger still, there's no secret, all they need is time."
