The former Madrid and Spain coach has spoken to Spanish media for first time since dismissal

In an interview with 'El partidazo de la Cope', the first with Spanish media since he was sacked by Real Madrid, Julen Lopetegui spoke about everything, including his relationship with Florentino Perez.

The former Spain coach explained that Madrid president Perez didn't tell him he had been sacked. Instead, it was director general Jose Angel Sanchez who broke the news after the 5-1 Clasico defeat.

"I didn't speak with Florentino and I have not spoke with him since. But, no bother. They're on their path and I am on mind," Lopetegui said.

Lopetegui insisted he's not been affected by all that went on last year -- he was sacked by Spain and Madrid -- saying "you have to be prepared for all circumstances."

As for the explosion of Vinicius at Madrid, a player he gave hardly any opportunities to, he indicated that "seasons last 10 months, not one month and a half. He was going to play. The time factor is important. He was part of the squad and when he didn't come [with the first team] he played for the reserves."

He added: "We had told him he would take part in the future. He is a kid with talent and racing through his development."

On being sacked by Spain before the World Cup after his move to Madrid came out, he sahid: "It's not normal for a coach to leave at that moment. That nigth in Krasnodar was not normal, it was strange. We were so excited about the World Cup. I was only the national team coach, not the Madrid coach. All the players understood. We had the great mission of having a great World Cup and going for the trophy."

Returning to Madrid, he spoke about Isco: "I've spoken with some players. I spoke with them all when I left. I exchange messages with some every now and again. I won't give my opinion on a player, though. It would be irresponsible."
