His results were even worse than Rafa Benitez's ill-fated spell in the capital

Julen Lopetegui leaves Real Madrid with the worst numbers of any coach during Florentino Perez's presidency and as the second shortest-serving, after Jose Antonio Camacho.

Lopetegui has been coach for 137 days, although only 75 days have passed since his first official game, the loss to Atletico Madrid in the European Super Cup.

He leaves following three straight losses in La Liga and with the team in crisis. The figures make for worse reading than any other coach under Perez: of the 14 games he's overseen, Madrid have won six, drawn two and lost six.

First came the loss in the Super Cup. Madrid still look set to qualify from their Champions League group but they were beaten in Moscow by CSKA.

The domestic situation is the worst: ninth in the league after 10 games in which they have drawn two and lost four -- they have not won since Sept. 22.

Madrid are five games without a league win for the first time since 2009, when Juande Ramos was on the bench and they ended the season with losses against Barcelona, Valencia, Villarreal, Mallorca and Osasuna.

Lopetegui leaves quicker than any other Perez coach other than Camaco, who left himself after six games because he didn't believe he was capable of turning things around inside the Galactico dressing room.
