The French forward could join Madrid for free next summer if he doesn't extend

French newspaper L'Equipe report that Kylian Mbappe has decided not to extend his contract with Paris Saint-Germain and will leave for free in 2022 when his deal expires, with Real Madrid waiting.

According to the story, PSG's hierarchy are now aware of Mbappe's decision not to renew his deal in Paris, although president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi will keep trying to convince him otherwise.

For that reason, PSG have no intention of listening to offers for the French forward this summer, despite the risk of losing him for nothing next year.

Al-Khelaïfi is convinced he will be able to change Mbappe's mind, not just with a financial offer too good to turn down but also by showing him that the club's sporting project will allow him to win the Champions League while in France.

In addition, L'Equipe add that Madrid have asked again about Mbappe recently, obtaining the same answer: he's not for sale.

The soap opera is set to go on for several more months, a year, even, as Mbappe moves into the final 12 months of his contract with the Ligue 1 runners-up.
