Inter Milan's dream this summer is to sign Luka Modric

Modric's representatives and agents from Inter Milan have held conversations over a possible transfer this summer

If there were any doubts as to how good Luka Modric truly is, the last 12 months have banished them. He guided Real Madrid to another Champions League title, helped Croatia reach the World Cup final alongside Ivan Rakitic and was handed the Golden Ball for his performances in Russia. Luka Modric is one of the best midfielders in world football.

Modric has never been short of admirers. However, no one ever really considered it possible that the Croatian would leave Real Madrid. That was, until now. According to Sky Sports Italy, Inter Milan have been speaking with the player's agents,

The same outlet claims that Modric is open to leaving Real Madrid following the talks between his entourage and the Italian club. The player, who arrived from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012 for €30m, has played 258 times for Real Madrid.

Inter, who will be competing in the Champions League next season for the first time in six years, are reinforcing their squad well. They've already signed Radja Nainggolan, Lautaro Martínez, Federíco Dimarco, Matteo Politano, Kwadwo Asamoah, Stefan de Vrij and Sime Vrsaljko. They're also linked with a move for Arturo Vidal should a deal for Modric prove impossible.

At Inter, Modric would find himself surrounded by some familiar faces. Fellow Croatians Marcelo Brozovic, Ivan Perisic and Vrsaljko are all working under Luciano Spalletti next season and Modric would be the jewel in Inter's crown.
