The English forward has no intention of leaving Tottenham and Daniel Levy is a tough negotiator

England striker Harry Kane is still the forbidden dream of Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. The Madrid chief wants a great goalscorer to take the space left by Cristiano Ronaldo and the Tottenham man is his big target. The problem is that it's almost an impossible transfer.

Three important impediments exist. First of all Kane has no intention on walking out on Tottenham and he has a contract there until 2024.

The second is that the president of the London club, Daniel Levy, is a tough nut to crack. On various occasions he's shown that Tottenham are not a selling club - it was hard for Madrid to get Luka Modric and Gareth Bale.

RECORD DEAL

If one day it does happen, it will be a transfer to break all records. In his day Levy said that Kane would cost more than Neymar, whom PSG paid 222m euros for. Florentino Perez would prefer to spend that much money on the Brazilian than the Englishman.

The final obstacle is the doubt that exists over whether Kane would adapt to Spanish football, even though nobody doubts his quality. At Real Madrid they are conscious of how difficult it is for Brits to adapt - as we have seen with Laurie Cunningham, Steve McManaman, David Beckham, Michael Owen and even Bale.
