The European champions are in bad form and the coach could soon be sacked

Guti, Real Madrid’s former player and a legend at the club, is the best placed option to take over from failing coach Julen Lopetegui. Madrid have lost confidence in the Basque coach and are looking for alternatives.

According to AS, Guti, a former trainer of the Juvenil A side and currently at Besiktas in Turkey working as an assistant coach, is their main option.

Even though Lopetegui will take charge of Sunday’s Camp Nou Clasico, president Florentino Perez is already arranging for his replacement to arrive.

He has contacted Antonio Conte and is now thinking about Guti, a man close to the club’s heart who knows a lot of the players there. He is already loved by Madrid fans and that could help compensate for his inexperience in elite club management.

Another option is Santiago Solari, who is going a good job, but a possible failure with the team could tarnish his future possibilities to take charge at a more stable time.
