The young Spanish forward scored twice against Fulham this week

Brahim Díaz scored twice on Thursday as Manchester City beat Fulham to reach the last eight of the League Cup in England.

After the game, Pep Guardiola spoke about his side's performance and also about the Spanish attacker. According to reports in England, Brahim could join Real Madrid for free next summer as his contract is up.

"We want him here, but at the end of the day it's him, agents and his family that decide," Guardiola said. "We have a very good opinion of him."

The youngster joined City in 2013 from Malaga and has played three times this season for the first team, although not in the Premier League. A lack of minutes, then, and the competition for places could see not renew.

Guardiola added: "Competing with Sterling, Sane, Mahrez, Bernardo... it's difficult to get minutes. He knew that at the start of the season and wanted to stay.

"We are delighted to have him with us. We will do everything for him to stay.... but it's up to him."

David Silva, meanwhile, Brahim's City teammate, toasted the youngster on Twitter by calling him "the future of the Spanish national team."

At just 19, Brahim Díaz is a forward who can play wide or through the middle. He's played for Spain at youth level and would be a great signing for Madrid.
