Madrid lost for just the second time this season in LaLiga on Sunday
Real Madrid suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Getafe on Sunday as 2022 got off to the worst possible start for Carlo Ancelotti's side.
Enes Unal scored the only goal of the game as an improving Getafe side moved three points clear of the drop zone.
Madrid pushed for an equaliser but could not break down Quique Sanchez Flores' side as they suffered just their second defeat in LaLiga this season.
The defeat to Getafe also ended a 15-game unbeaten streak for Madrid, during which time they built an eight-point lead at the top of the table.
However, second-placed Sevilla have two games in hand and could move within two points of Madrid if they win them both, starting at Cadiz on Monday.
