The Madrid president wants to add a number of players

More than anything, he feels the team needs attacking improvements

Real Madrid need a paint job. A disappointing start to the season, especially in La Liga, has revealed the team's weaknesses following the loss of players like James, Morata, Mariano and Pepe. With other players not performing, Florentino Perez is ready to renew the squad.

The Madrid president wants improvements all over the pitch, starting in goal. Courtois, De Gea and Kepa have all been linked. The latter could arrive from Athletic in January for his 20 million euros release clause.

DEFENSIVE REVOLUTION

There could be movement at right-back, too. Achraf is still young to be Carvajal's replacement when he can't play. The club have confidence in him but feel he's still very raw. Therefore, Real Sociedad's Álvaro Odriozola is a target. Already a Spain international, his reputation continues to grow.

Injuries throughout the season to Varane and Vallejo meand Perez is also thinking of Bonucci. Milan's experienced centre-back would form a partnership with Ramos. However, the Italian only joined Milan from Juve in the summer and may not force his exit.

Another player linked is David Luiz. The Brazilian's not having the best of times at Chelsea and had been dropped from Conte's side.

In midfield, things are OK. There's a range of good players in Casemiro, Modric, Kroos, Isco, Asensio and even Kovacic. Priorities will lie elsewhere in the winter.

PEREZ WANTS GOALS

In attack is where there are most doubts. Perez wants more goals and is looking at Mauro Icardi, the Inter star, and Tottenham's Harry Kane. The price of both makes deals difficult, though, with sums close to 200 million euros mentioned.
