Florentino Pérez gets his revenge on Zindine Zidane by showing his son the exit door

Luca Zidane, Zinedine Zidane's son, has been told to look for another club next season as he isn't part of Real Madrid's plans

Luca Zidane is a different kind of goalkeeper. Not good or bad, just different. Luca is great with the ball at his feet but struggles aerially. He's got incredible reflexes and is capable of making saves you'd normally see in cartoons but he's also guilty of dropping clangers too. Essentially he's a goalkeeper who doesn't fit the profile that Florentino Perez is looking for. He prefers someone smarter, more athletic, more reliable like David De Gea or Thibaut Courtois.

Luca, who is 183cm tall and only 20 years old, is preparing to leave Real Madrid. He's searching for a team he can join on loan and where he'll be able to demonstrate his quality. He wants to prove that he can make it at Real Madrid one day, although that looks increasingly difficult. At Madrid they haven't forgotten that it was his father, Zinedine, who turned down the chance to sign Kepa. Internally they believe this was to protect his son's position at the club rather than to support Keylor Navas.

LUCA is left unprotected

The unexpected exit of his father leaves Luca in an awkward situation. Perez struggled to find a replacement and has since felt the wrath of the Spanish FA after poaching their coach on the eve of the World Cup. 'The Sun' even says that Zidane left the club because he didn't agree with Perez's plans for next season.

Luca Zidane is now left unprotected. What was strange is that he was the third choice goalkeeper in the first place when there are better options available in the youth team. Now, without Zizou, Florentino is in control and has told Luca to look for a new club. It might look like revenge but, at the same time, it could simply be because he doesn't see a future for Luca at Real Madrid.
