Real Madrid went down 4-3 at home against Real Sociedad to get dumped out of the Copa del Rey, with the defence particularly to blame. Curiously, or not, defender Eder Militao has played in all three of Madrid's defeats this season. Against PSG in the Champions League, Mallorca in La Liga and now the Basques.
The former Porto defender, who arrived for 50 million euros, has not convinced Zidane. He has started 10 games, in which Madrid have dropped 11 of the 30 points at stake.
Zidane has chosen eight different defences in those 10 matches which makes it harder for Militao to adapt. The 22 year old has not started well in the Spanish capital. Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos are holding down their spots.
