Eden Hazard, tumbles down 100 million euros in value

The Belgian's value has tumbled after a season in which he barely featured and he has not played this term either

Florentino Perez threw the kitchen sink at Chelsea to sign Eden Hazard in 2019. Madrid paid 160m euros for the Belgian winger, even though he only had a year on his contract left and he will turn 30 in January.

Fourteen months after he arrived, Madrid's record signing has barely appeared. Seven injuries have kept him out of action and he's only appeared in 22 of 55 matches since joining.

Hazard has played in 40 per cent of games and rarely well, as he keeps needing to start from zero after each injury. That number would be worse too, if it were not for the coronavirus break delaying the season for him to feature after the restart.

He has been out for 243 days since joining Madrid - and arriving overweight both last season and this. Now Hazard is worth 60m euros, per Transfermarkt, down 100 from the price Madrid paid for him.

He has not appeared this season and is a big doubt for the Clasico in a fortnight's time, Oct 24 at amp Nou.

Even though Perez gave Hazard his confidence after this latest injury, the truth is Madrid fans have long not been able to look to him to be a leader of the club, like he should have been.
