Eden Hazard: I'm on a road without an exit at Madrid

The Belgian forward is in the World Cup squad for his country though

Belgium captain Eden Hazard says that he has no doubts about his own quality but admits the last couple of years at Real Madrid have been tough.

“I keep my smile,” said Hazard. “It's up to me to adapt, because I had difficult months in which I couldn't get rhythm (by playing the game). Now I have to show that I can still do it.

“There are people who doubt my quality, but I don't doubt it and I think we will see it again.”

Hazard said that he is in a “street without an exit” at Madrid.

“I want to play more. I accept the situation. I try to show each day in training that I can give more, that I still have good things to give. I try to keep smiling. Some mornings are more difficult.”

Hazard is about to play in his third World Cup and there are some doubts over whether he will be a starter or not.

Leandro Trossard at Brighton has been very good.

"He has had a superb year. He deserves to play even more than me. So I would be the first to congratulate him, but I will do my best for the coach to put me on the pitch," said the Belgian captain, who turns 32 in January.
