The Austrian international had to leave training early, and will now need to isolate

More problems for the Real Madrid back line. Having already been left short at centre back through the departures of Sergio Ramos to PSG and Raphael Varane to Manchester United, they have now been hit with a positive coronavirus case in the heart of defence.

David Alaba left Real Madrid's Valdebebas training ground early this morning. He was accompanied by the club's Head of Medical Services to a nearby hospital.

The club has since released an official statement to announce the positive case, but did not comment on the player's current condition.

The club is currently awaiting news of the extent of his injury.

This is an unwelcome setback for Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, who is currently short on central defenders. He only has Nacho and Alba at his disposal, given that Militao is yet to return from his summer break and Jesús Vallejo is participating in the Olympics.
